About Us

Little Scholars Preschool is a ministry of First Baptist Church. Our program is open to all families
in the Michiana area who desire the type of education we offer. While respect will be shown to
all who enroll, the philosophy, curriculum, and program of the school is built upon the beliefs of
the church. Children must be 4 years old by the date of August 1st, as we seek to meet the
criteria of the state of Indiana. Since space is limited, it may not be possible to accept all who

Our purpose is to provide a solid academic and spiritual foundation for children who are just
starting school. Our focus is both the head and the heart of the student: instructing the mind in
academic truth, instilling character into the soul, and doing all of this in harmony with the Bible
and teachings of Jesus Christ. A successful educational experience in grades K-12 is enhanced
by the child being prepared academically, socially, physically, and spiritually. It is our goal to
begin laying that foundation.

We believe that God gives children to parents and entrusts them with the responsibility to train
their children up in the way they should go (Proverbs 22:6). We believe the church and the
school can come alongside parents as partners in helping them fulfill that responsibility. We
believe the best educational experience is found in the home, church, and school having similar
goals and working in harmony with each other. As a Christian preschool, we believe that
education that omits spiritual truth is incomplete and is built on a weak foundation (Proverbs
1:7; Matthew 7:24-27). We believe that not only parents, but teachers also need to consistently
model the type of conduct they want to see in their children/students.
